His Worship Kyembe Karim, Magistrate at the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Pallisa, was the Guest of Honor at the annual Inter-House Music, Dance and Drama (MDD) Competitions held at Gombe Secondary School, Mpigi. The event, which doubled as the school’s Term II Visiting Day, brought together parents, guardians, staff and students to celebrate talent, creativity and teamwork among the school’s learners.
This year’s competitions were held under the theme “Integrity: A Foundation for a Corruption-Free and Progressive Society,” a theme His Worship described as timely and deeply connected to the work of building a just and disciplined nation from the grassroots up.
In his address to the students, Magistrate Kyembe placed strong emphasis on discipline and personal responsibility, urging both girls and boys to embrace chastity and self-control as pillars of good character. He noted that the values instilled in learners today shape the kind of citizens, leaders and families they will build tomorrow, and that institutions of justice have a stake in the moral formation of the young people who will one day pass through, or be protected by, the justice system.
His Worship also commended the Headteacher, Mr. Zimbe Abdul (Hajji), and the Gombe SS administration for the visible strides the school continues to make. He singled out the ongoing dormitory construction project and the newly paved school compound as evidence of a leadership committed to providing learners with a safe and conducive environment for growth and learning.
The Kintu House emerged winners of this year’s MDD competitions, with performances that reflected discipline, creativity and the spirit of healthy competition that the school seeks to nurture among its students.
